are the iron sights removable on rem 700's?

..Yes they are, on the rear sight,you must slide your adjustment that is on top of your rear sight,so you can get to your screws,it may have the screws covered up,they are removable...

Remington literature recommends using the receiver screws from where it was drilled and tapped for a scope mount to fill the screw holes left after removing the iron sights. Hope this helps.

The front and rear sights each have two screws. Slide the V notch off of the rear sight and remove both screws. One screw on the front sight is clearly visible. The other is accessed by removing the dovetailed sight and hood from the base. Use the plugs from the receiver to fill the holes.
