I still feel more barrels are hurt with breakin procedures than helped. Of course there' s a right way and a wrong way to clean any barrel. I see the vast majority of folks running aluminum rods down there barrel with no bore guides, which can wear out a barrel in no time.

As far as a proper breakin, it still seems the opinions are split all the way from Bubba who read about it in his shoot-in rag all the way up to world class shooters. It will also be debated till we switch to laser rifles over copper clad projectiles.
