A couple years ago I was looking for a part time job to get some extra cash for Christmas. I applied at a bunch of places, but only got one interview. (Maybe the $26.80/hr answer to "What is your current wage?" scared them all off). But I got an interview in the firearms/hunting section at Dick's Sporting Goods. After about 30 seconds into the interview, it was plainly obvious that I knew way more about guns and knives than anyone there, especially the manager that was interviewing me. I never got a call back. I'm thinking they don't want to hire people that know what they are talking about because that person would take their jobs pretty quick.

A few years ago I bought a .243 for my daughter and the dude behind the counter (Gander Mountain) asked what it would be used for. White Tail hunting I told him. He stated "well you know that is a very marginal deer caliber". I would love to say my come back to this was really clever but I'm not that smart, I just bought it and went along my merry way...
