Anyone own one? Thinking of this model: http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/16FCSS.... but never owned a Savage.

I have owned a model 110 in 22-250 for 20 plus years, no complaints still shoots great and have killed many coyotes over the years.

I have used a Savage 10ML for several years. Great shooter and has been 100% reliable.

I have a Savage 110, an older one with a steel butt plate. One of the smoothest actions I have seen and is a tack driver.

I own one in .204 Ruger.

Shoots lights out !!!

I have never had a bad Savage. Can't say the same for the other manufacturers.

I have a savage 111 made in the 1990s. Excellent gun and drives nails. Savage is known for out of the box accuracy. The design of the gun promotes it. If you research the model 110, you'll find that the lock nut they use to attach the barrel allows for a very precise headspacing that promotes accuracy.

Mine is pre-accutrigger, so I have no experience with that. However, they're supposed to be sweet.

A savage axis would be a good functional gun if you can't afford a lot of frills. The essentials of the action are the same.

Have Model 12 and 25 and love both. Have changed triggers on both...12BJTV to rifle basix SAV-2 and 25 to SAV-RAT. Both shoot extremely accurate.....mainly paper and coyote. Also, put Boyd thumbhole on the 25.

The only issue I have ever had had with the cheaper savage rifles is the stock design, they tend to kick a tad harder then some of their counterparts.. but as far as accuracy they are great shooting rifles..

I have that model in caliber .270, nice shooting rifle with crisp trigger. Happy with the gun.
