I have a 25-06 and a 300 Weatherby and love both. The 257 Weatherby is a great mix of a great caliber and lots of horsepower. If you are hunting with this gun, make sure you use good bullets. A plain-Jane 100-120 grain bullet at 257 velocities may fragment without good penetration. A controlled expansion bullet is a must.

I have the vanguard II in 257 and it drives tacks. It is pretty like some vanguards but that's what I like about it. the ammo is expensive but I've found some at midway that is reasonable then I reload that brass as these loaded rounds cost less that wby brass.
