Scope on 700 BDL
#1
I' m getting a Remington 700 BDL in .270 and was wondering what finish scope you would mount on it. I' m set on a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40. Would you put the regular gloss scope or the matte finish scope on it?

I' ve had good experiences with Leupold scopes....and the couple of times I needed their service department in a 35 year plus span....I had great service. Put on the finish you prefer! If one or the other matches your rifles' finish more closely consider it first. Other wise, it is personal preference.
The matte finish is probably less likely to reflect light than the standard finish....but the truth is that the lens itself is the object most likely to reflect light!
Good luck...with a good scope!

I must agree with the others I much prefer the dull finish to the gloss. I just put a Leupold VX1 on my 257 Roberts. I could not see enough difference between the VX1 and VX 11 to spend the extra bucks. I may pick up a new rifleman Leupold when I get some of my other lawawys picked up. Good luck with your new outfit. I am shopping for a lefty 270 myself. I' m looking at the LH Tikka.

If your rifle has a blue gloss finish I would go with a black gloss finish scope, with a blue matte finish I would go with a black matte finish scope, with a matte stainless steel finish I would go with a black matte finish scope.
Good luck.
Good luck.
