Tikka !!!!
Very reasonably priced, super accurate, and the smoothest action I' ve ever seen. With it' s accuracy levels, and the inherant accuracy of the .270, there' s no reason you can' t get one and it be a tack driver once you find the ammo that it likes.
Browning
Always had good luck with Browning A-Bolts. Very nice rifles and usually very accurate out of the box. Especially with the new BOSS system they have.
Remington
Only experience I' ve had with them is bad. There' s are thousands out there that love theirs.
Winchester
Pretty much like the Brownings now. Even have the BOSS system on them.
Howa
Very nice for the money. Accurate and reliable.
There' s a few more out there too that are very nice rifles. Only you can decide which you like. Go to several stores, pick them up, hold them, (don' t drool too much, they don' t like that), work the actions, and if permitted by the owner (won' t hurt the guns), try out the trigger. Make your decision based off your gut instincts.

I have a browning abolt SS stalker in a 270 and it is a very nice gun.
As mentioned the Tikka' s seem to be popular and shoot well. Others winchester, Rem BDL' s, Ruger, Savage, Sako...well you get the picture lots to choose from. Best advice is put your hands on as many as possible and let the feel dictate the one for you.

well everybody has just about covered the list of makes , so i' ll just add the browning long action model 81 blr in .270 caliber to the list , it' s a great rifle , i' ve got one ,
and i' ll also attest to the savage bolt action , it' s one of the most accurate out of the box rifles you can get for the money

Man oh man, this should be fun. Which .270? (That' s about like " Which woman?" ie. blond...brunette...or redhead....it' s all a matter of preference.) In all seriousness though....there are so many good choices I would have to agree with many of the others here. Go out to the shops, handle as many as you can, you might even want to check for information from other sites online. (Though remember to beware....many people have personal preferences, likes and dislikes, and frequently more opinions than experience. So sort through the information carefully!)
In the final analysis it boils down to......what you like.....what you can afford....and should be tempered by how do you envision using this rifle? It should be great fun making the decision. (Half the fun of owning a nice gun is in the selection process...the anticipation....and finally the fulfillment of all your efforts.
For another source of information check out www.galleryofguns.com After you find it, on the top left menu line click on Gun Gallery. Near the bottom of the drop down menu click on Manufacter links. You will find a list of many manufacters. Shop through them like a catalog, check their products, and start finding .270' s that catch your attention. This will give you a little more information for when you actually go shopping! (Finally, remember the guy behind the counter at the shop would like to sell you a rifle.....he may...or may NOT have your best interest at heart!)
Have fun....good luck!
