Close your eyes and shoulder the rifle. When you open your eyes the sight picture shoud be good, if not you need to adjust either scope/mounts or lop. If the rifle feels off while your eyes are shut the fits not right and you may consider a different stock/design. I get funny looks when closing my eyes and shouldering a rifle for the first time but it's my best way to get a first impression of it's feel/fit.

If memory serves me correct you seem to come back to the fit/feel of the M77's over all others. It might be time to accept the fact you prefer the ruger and build your cabinet accordingly.

Good Luck

So here's my issue. When I shoulder the rifle....I feel "cramped". Like I'm shouldering a youth/compact rifle. Makes me feel like I'm too close to the scope and cant back away from it enough.
The scope is as far forward as the rings will allow.

I believe the XCR has a 13 1/2" LOP. A couple rifles that fit me perfectly are the Ruger M77 and the Win. M70.....both of which are listed at a 13 3/4" LOP.

Would that 1/4" shorter LOP make my Remmy feel that weird???

Any opinions would be welcomed....

.......... Have you checked the actual LOP? I know it's academic if the stock just plain seems too short for you, but I'm curious to see if the LOP is as advertised, or has somehow been altered when not in your posession. Did it fit you well enough when you first owned it??

+1 for Pawild man

Mauser I've shortened 2 shotgun stocks both a mere 1/4 of an inch and made a huge difference in shooting feel 1 is a BPS the other is a cheap O/U. I shoot both much better now than before I think because they "fit".

I'm 5'9" and shoot a lop at 12 1/2 " for my shotguns but 13 for my rifles. I'm left eyed so I shoot left handed and have to mess with the shotguns to get THE fit. My deer rifle I crowd a little in the summer but it seems I have to loose the day pack or long neck it to see the scope clearly when I'm geared up for the hunt.
