bentbarrel.....that' s a really nice rifle. Have you had any problems with barrel heat up with the Mountain rifle and the thin barrel? I started to buy one chambered in 25.06 but was concerned with the thin barrel. I know it only takes one shot but i also like to target shoot quite a bit.

I love my mountain rifle! For me, there' s no better choice out there, for a hunting rifle.
Mykey
mine is a .280, shooting hot handloads. Never had a problem with the barrel heating up. I doubt the 7mm-08 would either. That said, I wouldn' t choose a mountain rifle for something you' ll shoot alot from the bench...then you may have a problem. For a hunting rifle, they are super. My next gun (when I can afford it) will be a .260 mountain rifle with the laminatled stock/stainless barrel. Hopefully soon!

Mykey,
Haven' t had a problem as of yet...then again I hadn' t shot it much because I' ve only had it a short time. But I don' t foresee a problem with the barrel heating up...all my 700s have been good to me. It' s a nice looking rifle...laminate w/ ss barrel. The stock has a nice feel to it too. I plan on taking a nice buck this fall with
it.
