Default kimber rifles

picked one up in 308 and fell in love. not sure hat the model was but it was bolt action with a synthetic stock, extremely light and pretty pricey. anyone have any experiences with this rifle?

Assuming you're talking about the Kimber 84, these are very nice rifles. They were built around the 308 so they are lighter than many of the other short action rifles out there. They handle very well, have match grade barrels, good triggers, and controlled round feed. One of the better productoin rifles out there. The two that I've handled have both been very accurate and a joy to handle. They are more expensive than your typical Remington or Savage, but you get a lot more gun.

You will only hear good thing about Kimber FIREARMS period, but bring your check book because they don't come cheap.

Kimber's are nice but have not been bullet-proof either. There have been some QC and accuracy related issues reported. I've had an 84M wood/ blued and a Montana, both of which were fine. I still may get an 8400 though. Pricey but well built.

I assume your talking about the Montana, maybe? I've handled a few and they seem like a nice walking/mountain rifle, but too expensive for what they are imo...

Kimber makes nice 1911 pistols that are priced right and shoot great, but their rifles don't enjoy the same reputation. Kimber rifles are great looking, and the Controlled Round Feed feature is sometimes a good thing (but not always), but they don't all shoot tiny groups.

Maybe looked down on by those Vo Vapen owners.
