Here's what I found;

"In the 1980s, Kimber made rim- and centerfire rifles that were handsome but often lacking in accuracy and plagued by quality-control problems. That incarnation of Kimber went under, and the new company of that name has none of the problems that doomed its ancestor."

I guess I am a newbie and only know them from recent reviews.

Heres just a few examples of what I found in the 1st 2pages ,by simply gooleing the words kimber rifles,quality control. report after report of feeding , firing, and accuracy problems, not to mention horrible customer service. I cant believe anyone who bothers to do 3 minutes worth of research on these guns, would drop 1200$ or even 200$ for one of these turds. Cop buddy of mine told me the worse pistols he ever owned were kimbers and kahr.

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about their 1911 pistols. The rifles have been hit or miss. Pun intended.

Im not a rifle expert, nor am I privi, to any inside info, I just know what I read, which is the same stuff anyone who googles "brandX" and quality control, problems , accuracy, etc.can find. I do remember last year, there was a big to do about coopers founder, supporting obama for pres. Other than that, I dont know much. I did google cooper rifles and quality control, and not much negative stuff came up. Personally if I was going to drop over 1000$ on a new rifle, I would build one off a 700 action, pacnor barrel, timney trigger, and mcmillian stock.
