My recommendation would be to build your own kit. Go to a place that sells gun cleaning equipment and buy only what you'll need. Otherwise you'll end up with a bunch of junk you'll never use from the kit. Trust me, I know.

I like the bore snakes and have them for all my shotguns, and rifles. They easily go into a zip lock bag with a small bottle of oil, solvent and a rag. I take them on all my hunts and can easily clean my gun in seconds after a wet day or if I shoot. No parts to buy and nothing to lose.

I really like my Otis tactical kit, it will clean every gun I own and does a really good job. I think I paid something like 39.00 for it from Midway USA.

.284 = 7mm, SWT hit the nail on the head. All you really need is a brush, patches, bore guide and a quality cleaning rod. Solvents and lube is a no brainer.

I use snakes for all my firearms.

two actually - one with solvent and another with oil.

I only clean with a rod after the season and ready to store.

Remember, a clean cold barrel shoots differently then a dirty barrel.

I always run 3-5 shots through a clean gun before I plan on taking it on a hunt.

Same here, I verify the zero before the season, do a quick cleaning at the range and put two more down the tube and it's ready to go until after the season is over, unless something happens like a lot of rain or god forbid I get something in the barrel.

IME not all bores shoot differently unfouled. I do agree verification of POI is a must before any hunting trip.

In regards to cleaning supplies:
1 piece coated rod
bore guide
applicable jag/bore brushes
solvents and lube

Patches can be made from cotton tee shirts or bought if you desire. If I buy, I get the bulk pack of 50 cal patches then cut them down accordingly, I can use then in a .17 through 50 cal ML.

When Walmart has the cotton patches in the small bags, I buy up as much as possible. then cut them down to the applicable sizes to suit my needs. They used to have them all the time, now it's like hit or miss if they have them.
