Question Which rifle should I buy?

In a local outfitter they have 3 different caliber rifles to choose from for $199.99. All of them made by Savage.
30-06, .270, & 7mm Rem. I would like to get one with knock down power for something as big as a bear but not the real hard kick. I have had surgery on both shoulders in the past so I need help please. Keith

Are they new? at that price Id buy all 3 and flip 2 of em. All calibers are good, 06 and 270 will probably be cheaper to feed though. 270 kicks the least.

Yes they are all new. The 270 comes in either wood or synthetic stock.

All three will kick about the same, the 7mm being the worse. I like the 30-06 out of these three.

.270 = 16.5#
30-06 = 17.6#
7mm mag = 19.2#

If recoil is your biggest concern then get the 270.
There isn't much difference between the three other than recoil.

My vote goes to the .30-06.

Sounds like a great buy! I'd go with the 7mm RM or 30-06 personally. Recoil pads work wonders if that's a problem.

If you are just talking about black bears the .270 will do anything you will ever want it to do.

If you are talking about brown bears then none of the above. IMO this situation warrants a 338 or larger.
