what gun has the most recoil?

Get an 8 lb sledge hammer and have your buddies take turns hitting you in the shoulder. That would be a lot cheaper and makes just as much sense.

I had to sign up for this site just to post here. I prob. will be on here a lot now!
Funny, I asked this exact same question and people just kept calling me crazy....
I had 10 guns out on the range, a few small ones along with a 30-06,25-06, 35 Rem, 375 HH mag, 12 with 3 1/2 and a 44 mag.
None were enough. I wanted more. Just like the first post for this. I wanted to turn my shoulder into ground beef. lol....
I did a lot of research on this statement... THat 700 T rex or nitro) cost $20,000 bucks... YUP! No typo.. four zeros. I did see a few for 18k but still! not going to happen.
Acording to other people asking the 12 gauge with a 3 1/2 inch turkey load is one of the best for beating yourself up. According to some chart I found online, it has it listed at 77.75 lbs of "Recoil Energy"
I took it a step further and made my own spreadsheet out on gun recoils. Im not sure where I went wrong, but my #'s are a bit smaller then the chart that I mentioned above... i.e.:
Their chart:
30-06=17.82
7mm Rem mag=19.87
300 win mag=27.16
My chart:
30-06=6
7mm Rem mag=7.87
300 win mag=8.0
Yea, I don't quite have it down all the way yet.. But long story short, According to my want to be paper, I found that the 460 weatherby mag is at 56.17 (the chart that I found online doesn't list that gun) Their chart says other then the 12 gauge the 458 win mag is massive at 69.96 (my calculations are at 23.84 for that one.
I tried using the formula that is in the back of the lyman 48th edition Reloading Handbook.
P.s. I said that all guns weighed 9 lbs and just picked a mid range load from that book for all guns. Don't know how to do shotguns yet but will get them on there too when I get a sec.

Drop a 20 gauge shell down the barrel of your 12 gauge then chamber a 12 shell and fire it.
Just mocking your foolishness OP......
Don't really do that.

Assuming that he was a misguided 13-15yr old dingbat when he wrote the post, it'd be VERY interesting to hear what his opinions might be today in his mid 20's. Hopefully he's figured out that bruised shoulders don't add inches to your... rifle...
