Go to this link and it will give you recoil figures for just about every rifle made.

BigCountry and NoMercy have pretty well covered the " make you cry mama" list!
If you decide to play with recoil calculators remember it' s NOT just pounds of push -- look at the velocity of the kick! That is where shotguns can' t hold a candle to these huge rifles.

A sharp whap , instead of a push ?- my bones are getting old i like to wake up slowly[&o][X(]( need shoulder replacement surgury too i think lol)
Id like a 50 cal bmg long range rifle , but maybe a shock absorber buttstock& on off muzzle brake etc. then i can shoot it much more[:-]
There was one in the paper& had lotsa ammo& dies, bullets etc.

Try a light rifle chambered for the .50 BMG cartridge. Failing that, how about a double in .700 Nitro Express? Or, if you can find one, a muzzle-loader in 2 Ga., firing a 1/2 pound lead ball, like the one Sir Samuel Baker used to use (" Baby" ). He said he got a severe headache and nosebleed every time he fired it. His Arab guides called it " Jinnah al Mutfa" , or " Son of a Cannon" !

I know some fellows that can fix you up with a .50BMG any barrel length you want shorter than 45" and without recoil pad or brake if your up for it.
How' s about a 16" carbine version sound? Or maybe a single shot pistol?
Ammo is alot cheaper than the ones for the elephant guns so you can afford to destroy your shoulder quicker.[&:]
