Encore is always a good choice because you can interchange barrels but if you want to stand out from the crowd I suggest a Ruger #1. They are stunning rifles. Theres others also but these two are the best of the best IMO.

I've always thought the Ruger No.1 was a classy SS.

CVA is making a good showing with their new one, Apex. Not as many calibers as the Encore, but the big ones are there.

What about the rifles EABCO.com advertises as custom /semi-custome made? Their propaganda (catalog) makes them look pretty sweet..

i just recently ordered two 308 rifles from wal mart, they were the new england firearms surviver's with the thumbhole stock and bull barrel. they cost $246.00 each plus tax, and took about 9 days to come in. i have not shot one of them but the other i put a simmons pro hunter scope on it, and shot federal 150grain hi shock ($14.97 a box). i got 1inch groups at 100 yards, for the money they can't be beat.

Most coopers are single shots, encores, contenders, #1's, 97D falling blocks. all excellent choices
