I have a savage. Great little gun. Mine is a 94F. Which I couldn't find on the website. They're calling them 93's now. Anyway, especially for the money, it's one of the better ones in my opinion.

I had a Model 93 Savage with the bull barrel and accu-trigger. Best shooting rifle I have ever owned. Would shoot the entire box of shells under an inch at 100. It was an unreal shooter and from the reviews I have read mine was not an isolated case. They all seem to group like that. I sold mine because the shells started at 6.99 when I bought it and were 13.99 when I sold it. Cheaper to shoot a 223.

Heavy, I don't know how much cheaper the sporter barrels are, but Walmart has the heavy barreled 917V for just over $200. It's a small gun and the heavy barrel version is still light weight, actually I just checked the Marlin website and both versions weigh 6 pounds. It's a long range tack driver so you might as well get the bull barrel and take advantage of the accuracy.
