I've got the 870, and like Rammer says, its very dependable. Haven't tried it as a boat ore yet

Never used a BPS Though

The action on the bps is much smoother, and the fit and finish is superior to an 870 express IMO. Action also stays cleaner w/ out the side ejection port.
