I found a tobin arms double barrel side by side 12 gauge. On sale for $145...it is hammerless, by that I mean no exposed hammer. Pretty good condition. can anyone tell me anything about them? I know it is pre 1925. Our these worth any money? Should I buy? Any info appreciated!

I can't find any info on it in my "Blue Book of Gun Values". Does it have Damascus barrels? It may have been made prior to 1898, and listed in an antique firearm book, which I don't have. Anyhow, if you can afford it, I'd pick it up anyhow. Don't get much anymore for that price......

Probably a "hardware store" brand name made for some retail; chainby one of the smaller makers. Often these came from Belgium. No particular value. It's not a Purdey or Parker even! If European in origin, there'll be proof marks stamped on the underside of the barrel breeches.

Tobin Arms was a firearms company started in 1905 in Norwich, Connecticut, USA. It produced side-by-side and double-barrel shotguns in various grades. The company moved to Woodstock, Ontario, Canada in 1909 or 1910. It then made shotguns until 1925 before shutting down.

Jake, I think this is one of those; "If you like it, buy it" things. Not going to be a money maker or anything.
