I've shot one about 10 times. My friend bought it for an elk hunt this fall.

I'm not recoil sensitive, but it did pack quite a whallop. The noise is more than noticeable, too.

It is one hell of a shooter, though. I'd feel comfortable hunting with it!

i fired my friends, it was the only centerfire rifle ive shot besides my 30-30...it was very loud and kicked alot, but then he brought out his 3 1/2" turkey gun (12ga) and that kicked wayyyy more than the RUM

I use a 300 ultra for all my moose and elk hunting and find it the best caliber I have used for these animals. It shoots flat and hits hard although recoil is a little stiff.I use only handloads which group 1/2" at 100 yards in my custom rifle but a friends factory 700 shoots factory loads into groups less than an inch.

Recoil is alot for the lighter BDL's but alot better for heavier sendero or pps models. As far as accuracy, depends on the gun from Remington. Every rem. i used to buy was a tack driver, but I found them hit or miss these days for all calibers. I got a 700P that is a outstanding shooter but got a 700 BDL in 270 that doesn't shoot well. Hit or miss.

I'VE GOT ONE IN A SENDERO SF. AND I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S THE GUN OR THE CARTRIDGE BUT IT WILL GO SUB MOA WITH THE REM TRASH AMMO AND NEAR 1/2" WITH THE FEDERAL TB BEAR CLAWS. THE SENDERO GOES ABOUT 8+LBS WHICH MAY HELP TAKE THE EDGE OFF AS FAR AS RECOIL, AND IT IS A VERY SOLID FEELING RIFLE TO HOLD.

CERTIFIED GUN NUT--

BIGGUN...Was that out of the box, or did you do some work on the gun? If that's out of the box, I'm buying!!!

Thanks
