I use a 300 ultra for all my moose and elk hunting and find it the best caliber I have used for these animals.It shoots flat and hits hard although recoil is a little stiff.I use only handloads which group 1/2" at 100 yards in my custom rifle but a friends factory 700 shoots factory loads into groups less than an inch.
