Default doing research on new rifle

what do you all think a 30 06 in marlin xl-7 or remington sps. only about 100- 150 dollar diff. in prce. looked at xl-7 today the stock is indeed light kinda a hollow feeling for me. Does anyone have a shooting comparison of the 2. I used to have a cdl in 3006 was the best shooting high power rifle I ever shot. however got crazy and traded it away. thanks guys

I have a rem.sps in 243 and it's a great shooter,I really like it.I had a 700ADL in 30-06 and liked it also.Like someone else said go get a feel of both of them, check out their features side by side and you pick the one you like.I have heard some pretty good things about the new marlins and you should check them both out good and decide.Good luck and good hunting!!

I like Marlin lever guns but I'd definitely go with the Rem for a bolt action.

Between the 2,pick remington IF you have the money-not just for or counting rifle, but also for decent glass on top. Too many people buy a rifle, only to then discover they don't have enough money left to purchase a good scope for it. So IF you have the money,go for the remington between the 2,but if you don't,get the marlin and spend the difference on better scope. I have a marlin in the safe awaiting my buddy to come get it. Ordered it as gift for him,and was extremely impressed by the ergonomics/features and accuracy of it out of box.
