Default Good Deal or NO?

DSG's has the Savage 111 Combo on sale for $299 right now. This seems like a can't lose deal even if the scope is crap, right?

I really like my savages and don't know anyone who has had a bad experience with one. The scopes that usually come with those combos is a simmons 8 point 3-9x40. I used mine for a while then upgraded. Now I have Nikons and Millets. Probably going to get a Leupold next. If you can't afford a better scope, that will do for deer hunting applications for the time being as long as you're not taking any long shots

Last time the Wally world around here had Savage guns on sale for $354, I bought 3 of them. I could almost get 4 for that price. Does it have the accu-trigger? If so, really worth it. If not, still a good deal.

Where are you located?

Not sure on the Accu-Trigger, just saw it in their add, haven't actually gone to the store. I am located in Kansas City, MO.

Sell the scope for $40 and the rig is even cheaper.

Buy the rifle. scrap the scope/rings and bases. Should do good. Even if its not a Remington! J/K savage makes a good product.

The scopes on them aren't that bad, they just won't hold up to recoil over long periods. I'm not sure what caliber you are talking about or what you will use the gun for, but the scopes are fine for p-dog hunting. If it is a higher recoil rifle, just throw the scope on a 22 or a 17HMR. The gun is a good deal for sure. I bet ya it has the accu trigger.
