LOW RECOIL AMMUNITION?
Daughter wants to hunt this year,so looking for a rifle for her.Was leaning toward a 30/30 for recoil but after looking at remmington low recoil ammo was thinking about a 270 to also have a more usable gun. Anyone try this low recoil ammo and how was it? Shots will be under 150yd at best. Any suggestions appreciated.

For 150 yards and under they should really do fine. I tought a 9 year old how to shoot last year and he couldn't really tell the difference between the low recoil and my 140 gr hornadys.

They work fine. It cuts a 270, 308or 30-06 recoil to that of a 243.

How about just a little more info? What does she want to hunt? Where are you located (assuming it's for deer hunting, so we know how big they are there...)? How old is she? Any prior experience with guns? What are future plans... i.e. If buying this one for deer, are you looking to possibly use it in the future for something larger like elk?
I'm planning to use managed recoil rounds in my 7mm Mag this fall. It kicks considerably more than my .243, but a little less than my .30-06.
If you're looking for something that's mild recoiling, accurate, and perfectly suitable for deer out to 250-300 yards, your deer aren't the 350 lb. corn-fed Nebraska behemoths, and you don't plan to use it on something larger in the future, you can't go wrong with a .243. That's what my son and I have been using for the past three years.
