I asked this question on the deer hunting forum, but opinions are slow in coming. I'm hoping someone has some experience with Brenneke sabots. They are just over half the price of the sabots I've been shooting.
I was looking for Winchester sabots this weekend, and saw a decent deal on Brenneke 2.75" sabot slugs. These are 1 oz., 63 caliber, rated at 1550 fps. They are not the typical Brenneke slug that flies with an attached wad, they are true sabots.
I'm wondering if anyone has shot them or used them on deer.If they are accurate in my gun, they should do very well on deer. They are 100 fps faster than my 3" Winchesters, and also.13" larger indiameter.
The standard Winchester sabots have increased in price by more than half, not that it adds up to a major expense, and the Brennekes are pretty reasonable in comparison.
