Default Brenneke Slugs

Brenneke Slugs

Anyone tried the Brenneke Slugs? I recently got rid of my rifled Hastings Slug Barrel, couldn’t get anything to group with it, plus got tired of buying $15.00 plus dollars sabot slugs.

Had trouble getting any brand of sabot slug to group with my Hastings then put my brothers smooth boar (rifled choke) barrel and I shot much betterst 75 yards. No scopes attached probably don’t need it on a slug gun…

Anyone wish to share there experiences with the Brenneke brand? I have the Short Filed Magnums 2 ¾ inch clear hull type.

Thanks LC

I've had very good accuracy with them in my shotgun. With an improved cylinder choke and just the pumpkin bead on the end of the barrel, they'll do 4" at 100 yd. They're the only slug I'll use.

I shoot brenneke 2.75" KO Sabot slugs. They shoot very well in my Marlin 512 Slugmaster with rifled barrel. $8 a box here.

I think the KO's are only $4 a box here in iowa, I paid $8 for the short filed mag's. Might give them a try tonight but getting dark fast.

Thanks everyone!

My old man uses the KO's in his remington 870 and has put down plenty of deer with them...I have a mossburg 500 and the KO's get thrown all over the plase and are not accurate at all. I have u use lightfields and they are super expensive in VA.

Brenneke has more than one variety of KO slug. I am using the KO Sabot. There is also a KO Hybrid style, and they are cheaper than the sabot. If you can get the sabot style for $4, buy a bunch!!
