Default Browning Eclipse Hunter

I have almost made my mind up to order a new eclipse Hunter in the 7mm. Just wondering if anyone has got/shot/ or heard anything about this rifle??? If so likes and dislikes please!!

Thanks

haha better off just buying a normal A-bolt because all browning did was add in a thumb hole stock and the price went up 500 dollers and it's the exact same as the browning a-bolt's wast of ur money better off just going with a normal A-Bolt just my 2 cents

I have only been around the M1000's, the HB version. Good for the bench or sitting in wait not the best stalking or hoofing itgun. Actually the onesI have been around haven't shot any better then the standard abolts,a few300wm, 1 300wsmand 1 7mm rem mag. Personally don't care for the M1000 in terms of feel in my hand, bit chucky...however off a bipod it works well. I believe the eclipse hunter is the same stock but with a sporter barrel vs the HB that the M1000's have???? If so i'd rather buy a abolt II hunter and then put on a aftermarket TH/lam stock.JMO. I assume you've handled one and like how it feels, since you said you've pretty much made up your mind, which trumps what others may feel.

Got one two years ago in 7mm. The only thing I dislike is the 26" barrel. It makes it a little hard to carry it while stomping the woods. Other than that, the thumbhole stock is very easy to useand makes it easier to shoot than my '06. If you stand a lot while hunting, it really cuts down on felt weight. Felt recoil is really reducedwith the decentpad and the thumbhole. With the BOSS and handloads, I have been able to get 5 shot groups at 100 yards of 0.281".

The M1000 has the varmint fore-end and does feel thick. The hunter has a thinner fore-end and it's checkered. It does not have the stainless heavy barrel that the M1000 has and it is blued.

My cousin has an FFL and I got it at cost. I shot a stainless stalker in 7mm with the 24" and was going with that until he told me the price difference was about $150.

Thanks SBE likeI mentioned only been around the M1000's, good to know. BTW the M1000 can be had in either blued orSS finish, shooting partner owns one of each.
