If I only want to shoot 200yrds or less, I only gotta go bout 50-100yrds from my house, got a waterway behind the place that' s straight as an arrow till it bends at 223yrds, it' s bout 15-20 feet deep for the length of it. If I want to shoot longer, I just climb out and turn east, I can shoot around 825-850yrds, right around 1000yrds if I move back and sit closer to the road. Real big bluffs up on the edge of a hay pasture. In both cases, I' m shootin away from the closest town (bout 1/4mile). The nearest real range is bout 4-5 miles, nearest clay clubs are bout 11 and 15 miles away from my home, and there' s one 5 miles from my apartment at K-State. There' s a rifle range bout 10 miles from my apartment too, archery range 3 blocks and a pistol range somewhere around a mile away, but I shoot so much at home I never go there.
Just figured I' d rub that in you " city folks" noses a bit

If I want to shot my rifle which I like to do. I have to drive an hour and a half one way. But there is a indoor pistal range about 15 min. away but I dont really like shooting indoors.

I have a range set up in our back field, about a quarter mile from the house. I have the range' s marked out to 325 yards and a shooting bench that I drag back and forth to whatever range I want. Just have to feed the cows before you shoot though or the darn things will come stand in front of the target until you go feed the stupid things.

i built a dirt backstop on my property but we still belong to a gun club that 7mins drive and it has: 1 (300yard, 200yard, 100yard, you can use what you want for highpower), 1 100yard rifle range, 1 silohuette range for center and rimfire, 1 standard pistol range out to 50 yards. 1 Practical pistol range, 1 set of falling plates and poppers. 1 range with moving targets, another 50 and 100yard rifle range. and 2 trap fields and 1 skeet field. i think that covers everything. though i does cost $100 and 12hrs of work

45 min.each way to shoot skeet and an hour each way to sight in the slug gun 25,50 and 65 yds. an hour and a half if I want the 100 yd range. every minute of driving insures hours of pleasure come fall.

Got an 85 yard range in my backyard. Belong to 2 clubs with 200 yard ranges. One is about 35 minutes and one is about 20 minutes away. My backyard range is long enough to test and do some quick sighting in.
