for years i used the 100 yard range at the local gun club,2 min down the road.they did away with the rifle range to put in a sporting clays feild.about 20 min away was a gun shop that had a 100 yard range, then they closed up shop.at this point i said these 100 yard ranges just arn' t cutting it.so i built my own 500 yard range with stations at 100,200,300,400 and 500 yards.and if i get tight to the road i can squeeze 560 yards out of it.its realy the only way to shoot center fire rifles.i believe its important to know exactly where your bullets are hitting at all yardages you might encounter while hunting.

I have about a five minute drive to get to the club. We have 50,100,200,300y rifle, 50y pistol, sporting clays, 50y archery, and most weekends 3D archery. It' s pretty nice, when I find the time to go, I pack the truck up with enough equipment to keep me busy for several hours.

I used to have a 300 yard range in my back yard. Built a nice bench and everything. I' ve since moved and now I have to drive 40 miles to get to a 100 yard range.
Oh well, at least I still grt to shoot.
