The one bad thing about the mag release of the Savage rimfires is, when shooting out of a pickup window, the mags will drop off and land on the ground.... Don't ask me how I know this....
Their levers are right in the way of the door jamb. [:@]

I haven't talked to my dealer yet. My best friends dad has his FFL and he said it'd either be here today or tomorrow. I got it for $250, so I got a decent deal on it.
I have quite a few buddies with 17HMR Savages, and Marlins. And I prefer the Marlin because of the magazine droppage issues they have with their Savages.

I've ordered quite a few guns offline, and what I do is this:
Find the gun I want for the price I want. Use my credit card to pay the dealer. Then I have my buddies dad send that dealer his FFL, and in about a week, I go pick up my gun from my buddys dad, and fill out the paperwork.
