hey mossbergman11,I'm not a big fan of the marlin 22lr semi-auto's,but the marlin 25mn is a very good 22magnum rifle,it will be hard to find anything any better for the amount of money,if you want a tube fed gun I think it's the model 783 marlin it also is an excellent choice,I haven't owned on of the savages yet so I can't comment on them, but savage has a good reputation, the marlin bolt actions that I've owned were very good shooters, you can knock a squirrels head off at 75-100 yards with a decent scope with one,I used one for several years and had no problems with it,it was a 25mn.I saw one at walmart last week for about $179 that would leave a little money for ammo, now you can get a lot of different bullets for the 22mag now they even got ballistic tips for them, good luck I guess you decided not to get a 22lr.good luck.

It took me 5 shots to sight mine in tonite in the dark, and it accounted for 2 coons, 4 jackrabbits, anda cottontail so far.
Its a sweet shooter for sure. If I'm not careful, it might take over my favorite plinker role.....

The marlins are great guns i have 3. Two here in PA and one in AL at my moms. I ahve a 17 HMR and a 22 Mag here and a 22 Mag at my moms. The only thing i dont like on the Marlins is the trigger. It is very stiff. Ive never shot a Savage rimfire but have heard alot of good about them.
