I have been quite happy with my Encores, but all I have now is a ProHunter muzzleloader. My youngest son has a custom shop 270 and a muzzleloader. I have never bedded a forend and have gotten MOA+/- accuracy out of nearly every barrel that I have owned. My son's 270 is consistently a sub MOA barrel with every type of ammo we have fed it. It is by far the best we have ever had.

Love them or hate them; T/C has sold TONS of them.
Yea, but to hear you say it, you get 4" groups out to 500 yards with a 22LR, with you shooting offhand.

I completly disagree. Love the Encore

I continue to get the exact sameaccuracy with every barrel for my TC Encore.7mm Rem Mag, 12ga turkey, 50 cal BP. Unless your banging on the scope to get your hinge pin out, how is removing this pin impacting the alignment of the scope to the barrel???????

2 season ago I removed the 50 cal BP barrel and replaced with the 7mm Rem mag. No sighting in needed. Knocked down my biggest deer of the season at just over 275 yards. One shot one kill.

This year I was hunting multiple VA. counties during deer season. One county onlyallows shot guns and BP, and the other county I was able to use my 7mm rifle barrel. On back to back days I shot adoe with the 7mm Rem mag and the next day I shot a doe with the 50 calBP at 150 yards. One shot, one kill , on consective days, with 2 different TC encorebarrels, with the same action and hinge pin.

Maybe you need some better glass and have them install by a professional gun smith. Nikon BDC's

Bigcountry, you are right on this one. My Encore was bought as a muzzleloader and it is a really good one. Then I bought three rifle barrels. Groups from the .35 Whelen and .30-06 barrels were nothing to brag about on a range full of shooters. The Hornet barrel is really accurate. It is just a big hassle to change barrels and forends. The .35 Whelen barrel has already been sold and the .30-06 barrel is going away soon:Will use that Leupold FXIII scope on another gun.

I got involved with the TC's while shooting steel handgun silhouettes. For this they excelled big time. I shot the 44 Magnum and later the 35 Remington. I had the carbine in 223 as well. I also used the 30 Herret and 35 Herret. I added the 357 Maxiumum to the list and last but not least, the 45-70. These were however all on the Contender. I never liked the idea of real high pressure single shots but my expierence with the Contender and lower pressure barrles have all been good.

Same goes for the NEF rifles, I have had great service from the rimmed lower pressre calibers and mostly problems with the rimless high pressure ones. I wouldn't touch one of the new Magnum models with a 30 foot poles.

Lastly I agree that as main hunting tools, if you want a shotgun, buy a shotgun, If you wany a rifle buy a rifle. I have had excellent customer service from TC in the few times it was needed.

Yeah BC, get rid of those tasco scopes. Put a little class in your Glass.

Yeah... my Schmidt and Bender really sucks.... especially attached with that crappy talley base... and that scope and base was installed by a proffesional gunsmith, who also did a trigger job on the rifle.

There is not a factory load made for a 7mm-08 I haven't shot... the gun's best group with factory ammo was just a few tenths under 4" CTC at 100 yards. I have spend $100s (no exaggeration) on reloading bullets and powders and what not for that piece of **** and even after countless hours on the range and on the reloading bench, the best group that rifle has ever shot is just over 2" CTC.

I am convinced that either the chamber was reamed sideways, or something. I have no idea. But it is flat out unacceptable to me. I love the way the gun handles, I like the way it shoots (but not HOW it shoots), and I just bought a 12ga turkey barrel for the girlfriend. The 7mm-08 barrel and the broken ass wood stock is on its way back to TC. Turnaround time right now according to them is 6-8 weeks... thats how many they are working on... hell turkey season would be over by the time I got it back if I sent the frame too.

I never did buy into the T/C crap. For one thing there ain't no way I'm paying $600.00 dollars or more for a piece of **** single shot! One of my best friends and my brother-in-law each bought one last year, it didn't take very many range sessions and they got rid of those guns faster than you can say junk lol!

I'm glad I read this, I was thinking about getting another barrel for my Encore. I think I'll keep it just a ML. Hell for over $300. for a barrel. I can add a few $ and get another nice Rifle. Thanks for keeping me from getting Sucked in.
+2

When I bought my Encore thats what I thought cool I can get a different barrel then it shot so good I was scared to mess with it until it busted the wood. But it is still strickly M/L.
