T/C still has my vote for the racket of the century with the Pro Hunter. I mean who else would actually have the audacity to charge nearly 700 bucks for a polkstock and actually sell them!!?!???! I guess giving freebies to everyone whos ever hunted on tv probably helps...

WOW, I thought I was the only one who thought that. Everytime someone kills a deer on TV, they are using a T/C. No wonder the prices are so high, someone has to pay for all those free rifles they give away for advertising.

And TC is so backed up trying to fix all the broken ones and the ones that don't shoot that they don't even have time to pick up the phone. Heck I have a regular Encore that won't shoot. Now in hindsight a good 1 in 5 folks that come to the shop with Pro Hunters are either sending them back or looking to get a different barrel that might shoot right.

Yeah but everytime GregRitz shoulders his rifle in the TCTV ad and fires it they play cool rock music.

You guys are a hoot!!

I am kinda surprised to see how this panned out. Figured it would be a pro bolt thread and I would not get to much advice on the break open. But was nice to see some of the long time posters give a good opinion. I currently have a Handi 204 and am thinking of getting another Handi. Just wanted some facts on the differences in them since some guys tell me a break open is always a less gun, but from my 204 and what I see on this forum and another a bolt action is not a must for me. Thanks guys, good discussion!
