Any idea how to get the tape resiue off of my gun?

I would think 3M adehesive remover would work good. I don't know if it would effect the blueing or the wood.

Try some mayonaise. You'd be surprised what it will remove. Start small and work it and you'll likely see the residue coming off.

I just used regular gun oil to loosen it then my fingernail to scrape off the really heavy stuff. Not sure about using Mayo though. The enzymes in the egg may hurt the finish if not entirely removed. Next time you put the tape on, you should spray lightly with WD40 first.

thanks for the advise... I left some gun cleaner on it and then took a cloth and got most of it off. The rest I had to work at with my finger nail.
