RE: Favorite weapon?
For me here in northeast Ohio I like my inline muzzleloader topped with a 2-5 wide angle scope,209 primer and triple 7 pushing a 223 gr. power belt. It's a lot af fun to shoot, easy to clean and wicked on deer.

RE: Favorite weapon?
Really all of them, but my Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 might be my favorite.I bought it in my early 20's. I replacedthestock with ahogue stock that is fully beddedin aircraft grade aluminum and mecahanically and chemically bonded to 'Hogue" rubber. The barrel is free floating. it shoots 1 MOA. The .30-06 is a great all around cartriage with minimal recoil. My last two rifles I bought, I topped with a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 x44mm (awesome). I plan to put a Zeiss 3.5-10 x 44mm on my Win 70 for this fall.

RE: Favorite weapon?
My favorite pistol is my Smith & Wesson 41 Mag, Classic Hunter. I've owned every pistol from the 44 mag on down and nothing works as well for me as the .41. It's not about muzzle energy. It about being able to deliver the goods on target consistently out to ridiculous pistol ranges.
My favorite all time rifle would have to be a Winchester Model 43, chambered for 22 K Hornet. This little devil probably killed more varmints for me than anything I've ever used. Out to 200 yds, it was simply a death ray. On the rare occasions that I missed, this cartridge made so little noise that very often the varmints didn't realize they were being shot at and they stood around or ran very little. Hardly any survived my second try.

RE: Favorite weapon?
Mine would be a Remington Model 600 in .308 my dad got me when I was 14 (I'm 57 now). I've shot 4 elk and numerous deer with it here in the Northwest. I've hunted with other rifles, bows, muzzleloaders, but I always remember the way animals seemed to walk out in front of that rifle. I still have it, although I haven't hunted with it for many years (I didn't hunt for many years as I followed my job around the country). I plan on familiarizing myself with the peep sight I put on again and hitting the brush in this years season.

Same old trap....
Favorite rifle....
it all depends upon the job at hand.... fit the tool(s) to the job, then pick the favorite tool....
for me, there ain't one:
Most rim fire plinking fun.... probably a Ruger 10/22.
Most centerfire plinking fun.... AR-15 in .223
Centerfire target shooting.... .308
Favorite big game rifle (big game I've hunted anyway).... Model 70 in 375H&H
Biggest rush.... Barrett 50BMG
Deer and antelope and lesser game....338WinMag was the most FUN and my favorite tho plenty fell to my 270Win....
Coyotes, prairie dogs, etc. 6mm with an Inertl scope.
