I'd take a shorter round in a long action any day over a short round in a short action with the throat cut way too long (hello Remington).[:@]

The bolt stop isn't moved foward but rather it's just a different piece with the "stop" part of the bolt stop more foward on the part.

There is also a spacer in the magazine for the short cartridges.

Those are the only two differences between a Tikka firing a short lengthcartridge and a standard length cartridge.
