No criticism taken at all. Just explaining my views. The 41 is a red headed step child to some, when in fact they are a diamond in the rough to the right people. Good luck to you with your quest in finding a suitable pistol cartridge in a rifle. Ruger (another passion of mine) makes a 44mag bolt action as well, that is a great rifle. I went as far as talking with Ruger R&D dept. several years ago about rechambering one in the 41 mag. It was on the table, but didn't get the support from their sales people. To bad, I would have been first in line.

I briefly owned a Win 94 Trapper in .44 Mag....pretty loud, but it shot fairly well, and it fit in the dry box on my ATV. I heard someone talking about it being offered in .480, but not sure of the legitimacy on that issue.
If I remember correctly that gun groupd about 3" with iron sights at 100 yards off a bench....and it was extremely light and handy.

It would be nice if I could shoot a few guns to see what I like best. I don't know of anywhere that would be possible, at least locally.
