slug hunter help
i have and h&r slug hunter in 20ga and at 100 yards my groups are getting a little erratic. i've tried both lightfields and sst's and they are almost exactly the same on my groups. i've been shooting off of stoney point sticks but the gun stays solid and i try to keep everything from point of aim, cheek weld, and trigger squeeze the same. i have noticed that the forearm makes contact with the barrel on the left hand side just a little in front of the chamber, is thiscreating a pressure point thats messing up my shooting? if so what should i do? thanks for your help.

What is a little erratic to you? You should be getting around 2-4in groups with the right ammo out at 100 yards. I know most slug guns can and do shoot better then that but 2-4in is all i expect out of mine at 100 yards. My Mossberg 835 shoots 2.5in groups at 100 yards with Federal Barnes Expander slugs.

Try a solid rest on a bench with bags then see what your groups are? You don't mention if you are useing 2 3/4 or 3 inch shell? You might try Federal sabots also. I'm had very good luck with them tightening up groups on several shotguns.
