Default Tikka T3 Hunter vs. Remington BDL

I have a Remington BDL wood stock and haven't been getting that great of accuracy with it. Was thinking abouttrading it and getting a Tikka T3 Hunter wood stock(maybe even the stainless version)b/c they seem simple, a little lighter, smoother, have a detachable magazine, the bolt locks etc...What does everyone think? I still have to do some more shooting to make sure this is the right decision, but any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a Tikka T3 Stainless Lite in 300 WSM. I love mine. I have the trigger set at 1 pound and love it. It weighs 7.2 pounds with the scope and all. It dose have some recoil to it butthe riflefits me well so it dosnt bother me.

The wood ones look good, but the stainless ones look pretty cool too.

I got Stainless because im very abusive to my hunting rifles. Especally when they are for deer and bear.

Not to steer you away from a new gun. But have you tried to fix the 700BDL? It could be that the wooden stock has swelled and putting pressure on the barrel wher it is not suppost to be. I had that happen to two Ruger M77 bolt guns. That is why I'm asking.

I'd figure the problem is probably easily remedied, for much less than the cost of a new gun...but that's a good excuse for a new gun and I'm sure you'll be happy with a new Tikka. They're not my favorites, but Tikka owners seem to love 'em.

Hey Retaks......Just how dangerous is it to be abusive to a gun with a 1 lb. trigger pull???? Let me know where you're huntin'....I'll be elsewhere.

Another vote for the Tikka T3!! I got the T3 lite version in a .308, and love this gun!! Came with a great trigger right from the factory!!

The trigger adjusts easily. I move it up to about 2.5 to 3 pound for hunting. I leave it set a 1 pound for target shooting. Even with the trigger set at 1 pound i couldnt get it to fire by banging it or dropping or anyhitng but i dont want it to happen on me in the woods.
