Default Who made this .22?

This rifle was given to me as a gift about 8 years ago (nice little shooter) and i just recently got the urge to find out who actually made it. It's a magazine fed bolt action(don't think you can see that in thepic).

Not sure if its a stevens, a savage sold under the stevens name or a springfield. I've found refrences(some not very reputable)to model 84-C madeby each company but can't find pictures or specs for the guns.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I checked on the net and found it listed as a "Savage/Stevens Arms", Springfield model 84c. If you ever need a magazine for it there are a lot of them out there. Found out in like new condition it is valued at around $179 a little lower than that in good condition and $99 in fair condition.

Heh, funny you should mention magazines being everywhere...i just ruined a couple of them alittle while ago. I was out shooting my ar-15 and just happened to have my .22lr mags in the ammo i box i keep my .223s in(i have no idea why).Well it was a really humid day and when i was done shooting i just closed the water proof ammo box andput it in a corner when i got home without airing it out. Three weeks later when i went to look for my .22lr mags i found a big pile of mildew that used to be papertargets, filled with little rustypieces of crudthat used to be the crappy steel casedWolf ammo i bought cuz im a cheap bastard, with my.22 mags stuckright in the middlecompletelyincased in rust.

......lesson learned and applied
