Shotgun Barrel Cleaning
My wife and I sighted in her 20ga shotgun with slugs over the weekend. We used the standard Remington lead slug.
At home I had a devil of a time cleaaning the bore. I believe most of the mess was from the plastic sleeve around the slug melting on the inside of the barrel and some lead fouling.
I scrubed and scrubed with a brass 20ga bore bursh soaked in Hoppe's #9 but it still left some of the residue in the barrel.
What do you folks recomend removing this mess with?
Thanks!!

RE: Shotgun Barrel Cleaning
Nothing........When I'm done sighting in my slug gun I leave it alone until the season is over with. Which for me is about a three week period. So, where you using foster slugs or sabots. Hard to tell since you mentioned you used "standard" Remington Slugs and then bring up the plastic in your bore. Makes me think you were using sabot slugs. I've always used Hoppe's #9after the seasons over withbut didn't have any problems.
