I guess it depends on what you want it for. If you want something "old School" I'd go with a Colt. You'll pay more.....but it's a Colt.

If you want something new to hunt and plink with then there are a lot of different manufacturers that make good AR's. As mentioned I'd go with a flat top because you will have a lot of options as far as sights go.

Me, I have both...but I prefer "old School"

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated!

I am in the market for an m14/m1a and an AR, but have come across an Armalite in .308. I could kill two birds and save a bundle. Oppinions?????

Buy the armalite in .308. Is that the AR-10 you are talking about. super accurate rifles. After a ew shot gun, and another carry pistol, the AR-10 is next for me

i bought my whole upper kit from J&T Distributing online and a bushmaster lower receiver from my local shop. No problems, no complaints.
