I don't have either one, but if it was me I'd go with the 300 Win Mag. I am not sure how that short, fat lil case would feed in an auto rifle.

There is no reason to buy a short mag unless you are going to use a short action rifle, they were designed to go into conpact guns. The short mags a inherntly less acurate. Yeah I know what some of you read. If winchester is paying you to write an article you'll say it shoots well. Go with the .300 win. Very few of the short mags are going to be around much longer. The .325 .300 and maybe the .270 shorts my make it. Winchester was grasping at straws trying to save te comp. instead of improving the rifles they came out with a bunch of new cartriges. And don't believe the hype about less recoil physics stay the same period. Also point in case some manufacturers have stopped making there guns in short mags.

Every article written by a independent has said the same thing. The only raves I've ever read have been paid by the company,or in a mag with a ad right next to the article. I would pull out the articles but when I left the gun counter I left the resourses there. I know all to easy. sorry

Then I guess every other rifle manufactor is grasping at straws too. Sense all the others except Ruger are chambering the wsm in their rifles. I personally think the 270wsm and 300wsm will be around for some time.

Ruger is chambering WSM in their rifles.

Funny thing is, I have heard people call them inaccurate, plenty oftimes on this forum.

I would just get the .300 Win Mag, because it's an auto, and the WSM's are short fat cases.

That the WSM's are going to be around foralong time is only partially true.

The 7mm WSM is dead. And the .270 WSM, I haven't seen anywhere in my area, since they're not popular. The .300 WSM is the popular WSM here, but no others.
I have yet to seemore than 3rifles in .325 WSM laying on the gun rack whenever I go into any store.I've only seen a .325 once or twice.

It's all going to be a regional thing, in some places, all but one of the WSM's are dead, and that one, is different in other places.

Ruger dropped the wsm in their current production rifles.

I have a Savage 300WSM and can put consistent shots in Bullseye at 100yds no problem. If you have a problem with recoil then I would go with the 300win because the 300WSM is no joke on the shoulder. I have a T/C encore Stainless Steel 300Win that is one of the smoothest firing rifles that I have shot.
