First of all John G very sorry to hear of your loss.
My wife of 8 1/2 years have been great. SHe loves to eat venison. When it was opening day of bow season and I didn't come home with a deer she said " what happened I want some venison" GOD love her. I told her that I saw a small buck but it was too small to shoot then she got upset. lol She loves venison. She said you better go out tomorrow and get that big one. She it great. She don't mind if I get new toys as she nows its a hope less case. BUt I only do so if funds are there.
She knows that I never forger her in that I love to buy her stuff. SHe has to say no don't get that even thought its for her. I love to buy her jewlery and expensive jewlery at that. So she actually says no to that as she thinks its too much. But I get some for her anyway once in a while. She is a great girl and love her dearly and couldn't imagine not haveing her around. SHe fishes with me and loves to go on a boat to fish and like to shoot and even picked out her own gun. A sig p232 380 great gun and great choice. I love shooting it too.
I just wish I could get her to hunt but I doubt I would ever get that to happen.

My wife likes to shoot so when I get the urge to add something new it' s fun to talk over the pros and cons of it. Heck shes even done reloading with me. Guess I' m one of the lucky ones too.

I' m trying to buy my first deer rifle with some of my graduation money (Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2002...WHOOP!). My fiance keeps telling me that we need a new computer, instead. I agree that we probably do, but the one we have is working just fine for what we need. She also wants to spend the money on things for the wedding...like flowers or decorations...barf!
A very good friend of mine offered to sell me his Ruger P85 9mm for $200 (negotiable). She almost tore me a new one when I told her I was considering the offer.
She says we don' t have room for guns in our apartment. Bah...humbug.

My wife could care less what I buy or when I buy it.....as long as she can get what she wants when she needs it.
I feel that' s a fair deal, however...since we bought our property...built a new home...and had 2 kids....neither of us has to worry about getting what we want...
It' s amazing how much money we don' t have now.
My cousin on the other hand....he gets new guns, scopes, archery and fishing equipment all the time. Like you said...it just kinda ends up " mixed in" with the already ' cabelas wanna be' basement he has. LOL...

In May they are going to auction off over 700 guns from a local gunsmiths private collection . I hate to do it but once again I must test her resolve to never say anything when I buy a gun .LOL They have a couple of #1 Rugers that I just got to have .www.I-5auctions.com is the link .

It seems to me you better take a stand with the little lady. Things won' t get better after you tie that knot. Could be a long mizerable life if she' s going to deny you completely one of man' s most basic needs, i.e. to own guns and go hunting. g.g.

My wife is very supportive of my hunting and buying hunting gear. Hunting is my hobbie. Her hobby is quilting so when she got a new sewing machine I got a new rifle. When she bought her plane ticket for her yearly quilting retreat in Arkansas I bought a new Leupold scope for my new rifle. We make the decisions together and make it fair to both of us.
