Default 17 HMR PROBLEMS

i have a Marlin 917 with a BSA Sweet 17 scope on it and i'm using remington ammo. here's my problem when i do my initial site in i'm dead on at 25 yds and then when i move to 100 i am way high and if i adjust down i'll be way low at closer ranges. i tried switching scopes and it still does this. Could it be the ammo? the gun shoots awesome groups, i just have this one problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because i'm about ready to get rid of this gun if i can't fix the problem.

Maybe a lower scope mount will help.

At 25yds the bullit is just really starting its upward path!, you need to sight it in at the distance you will be shooting the most and figure the trajectory for other disstances. Remember the rifle range, 200yds 6 o/clock, 300yds center mass basically you need to do the same with the .17. Semper Fi !!
