Have harvested one cow elk with 7mm mag. Remington 150gr. Core-Lokt at 350yds. Bullet was recovered in opposite shoulder underneath hide. Picture perfect mushroom. Harvested five mule deer and an antelope with 243win. using 100gr. Remington Core-Lokts. Have had very good luck with them.

Core-Loc's have taken well more than their fair share of game no doubt, and continue to be one of the more popular rounds in the field. I tried them in my .270 but could not get groups that came anywhere near the Hornady loading so went that route instead. Maybe I just had a bad lot or something ??

In the past I have had trouble with Cor-Lokts coming all to pieces, but that was in 270 and 243. Always had good luck with them in 30 cal, but I only use them out of one gun these days. My Savage 99 in 308 likes them and I don't have a reason to reload for it.

I used coreloks for alot of years before I started reloading, feeling the need only to shoot little clover leafs. Generally they are not the most accurate ammo, but performs great on game when you pick the right weight for the job.

I have to disagree, the core loct has always been one of the best grouping rounds I have used.
But...... I in my expierence they dont do so well in magnum velocities.

From age 18 up until about age 27 I used a 30-06 and 150 grain corlokts for most of my deer hunting. If I ever knew exactly how many deer I killed in that span I have forgotten it now. At least 60 butprobably more. I never had a single bullet related problem with any deer in that span. You just don't need high dollar designer bullets for whitetails. Standard lead tipped cup and core types do just fine.

I have never fired a Corelokt bullet from a factory load, but have found them to be surprisingly accurate for a standard, non-premium bullet when handloaded. Now, I am looking forward to trying the new Corelokt with the bonded core. That is bound to be an excellent game bullet for the heavier stuff like elk and moose.
