A recent American Hunter article mentioned that M70s Stealths work best with the front and rear action screws screws torqued to 65 inch-pounds. So I grab my trusty Brownells catalog and see that a torque wrench is around $160! (Plus I'd also need to get an adaptor to use allen heads.)
I wasn't expecting a Home Depot $18 special or anything, but $160 seems kind of steep. Does anyone know where I can get something cheaper that'll still do the job?

Bruce that you? I have a few torque wrenches and the cheep ones work just as well as the $200 Snap-On ones. You can find one at Sears for around $55 give or take a little.

Buy a torque wrench with a torque arm, Sears sells one and what you are doing this is fine. The ratchet is nice if you are using it to make a living and need to cut down time. If you do need to get one with the ratchet Sears sells one too, if you need to go professional go Snap-on, Mac, or Proto they make the ones we use on turbines.

Mike: the shootin' iron has about 1,000 rounds through it now, and it's feared by all the ground squirrels in Central CA (I take it with me for noontime diversion during boar hunts).
3700 fps with 37 grains of Varget behind 55 gr Ballistic Tips. It shot pretty well before, but now it's even better after buying hex head bolts from B-Square per what NRA said.
