Winchester Model 70 manufactured 1971

I was told that post 64 Winchesters were made until 1970 and then they changed styles again? What did they do different? Mine has a G before the serial #.

All winchesters made after 1964 are "post 64" winchesters!!!
The model 70 has been given back it's famous claw extractor in (guessing) the last seven years...... but it's still not a "pre 64"
Actually, in my opinion all the model 70 rifles since 1964 are fine guns.....and I believe them to be a safer gun than the so called "pre-64" at least in the matter of excessive loads blowing up guns.
