Winchester model 670
#1
I recently inherited a Winchester model 670 chambered in 30-06. I have searched and cannot find any info about this rifle. Does anyone know anything about it, or where I can find info regarding it?

I can't really remember the year but they was a less costly M-70........something like the 788 for remington; a less costly M-700.....but not a 700 at all.
The 670 was closer to the M-70 then the 788 but was still a cost reduced Winchester.....availablr in only a few chamberings.....the .30-06 was a very populat model.
I think this was a '70s thing.
Sorry friend....many were of poor quality and they didn't sell well and didn't stay in the market long.
Totally safe but a cost reduced gun.

Yes, I believe you are right. My dad bought it in 1971. It's definetly a "field" model, but that's ok with me. It holds value to me non the less.
The gun is more than 30 years old, and looks like it just came out of the box. He says he fired it no more than 10 times. I shot it the other evening, and am quite impressed.
