Default Encore question.

Has anyone seen any after market Encore barrels in 338 Federal? I am sure someone will soon if not already? I have looked at the new Ruger in 338. Really nice rifle but I have an Encore and would like to try the caliber a bit cheaper than a new rifle.

OOPS! Just found the answer. EBCO has them for 274.00 In the 28 inch Pro Hunter model. Bullberry has themas well but are much more spendy. 429.00.

Yep...they will make you just about anything you want James. Anything that is safe.

I would look at OTT as well....they use electricity to cut their bores and chambers with. SUpposed to be super precise.

No matter what though....going aftermarket (meaning not made by TC) is always a better way to go if you are buying new. TC makes good stuff...but not as good as the custom made barrels you can get for often the same price or just $50-100 more.

I have not checked with T/C lately but last time I did, that caliber was not available yet.

BUY BUY BUY! I think you need another new toy to play with

You ever had any gunsmith work done at Sodak? I was thinking of taking my Encore there and seeing if they could lighten up my trigger a bit.

Yeah. The gunsmith there has done a couple Ruger triggers for me. He did a pretty good job on those and didn't take to long either. Cost on the Rugers was about 40.00. This might be a good time before it gets close to rifle seasons.

I will probably get the 338 Federal but I may have to wait for a while. We just had our Th Anniversary and I would like to see 40 anyway.
